Environmental security arrests two for illegal hunting in Imam Faisal bin Turki Reserve

Saudi environmental security forces arrested two individuals for attempting to hunt unlawfully in the Imam Faisal bin Turki Royal Reserve. The Saudi Special Forces for Environmental Security intervened during their routine enforcement of environmental regulations. In custody, the two suspects were found to be in possession of two firearms, two air rifles, two pistols, 594 rounds of ammunition, and an electric saw.

Legal action was immediately taken against the offenders. The authorities highlighted the critical importance of adhering to environmental laws and regulations that prohibit hunting wildlife. They specified that the penalty for using firearms without a license is an 80,000 riyal fine, while hunting without a permit results in a 10,000 riyal fine, and hunting in restricted areas incurs a 5,000 riyal fine.

The authorities also encouraged the public to report any environmental or wildlife violations by dialing 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 and 996 in other parts of the Kingdom. All reports are handled confidentially, and informants are not held responsible.
