Delicious Fest teams up with SABC for 2027 return to Kyalami

The Delicious International Food & Music Festival, originally called Delicious Fest, has announced a new partnership with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) and a fresh date for its return in 2027. The two-day event will now take place on April 10 and 11, 2027, replacing the traditional Heritage Day weekend in September. This change comes after fans were left waiting for the September 2026 lineup.

The organizers described the SABC as the "heartbeat of Mzansi" and a perfect fit for the festival's diverse offerings of food, music, art, fashion, and culture. The shift to April 2027 was seen as turning a new page for the festival, with promises of more intention, growth opportunities, and continuity of the "unmistakable Delicious feeling." This move follows a challenging year for the festival, during which SABC's ownership shifted from MultiChoice to Canal+ due to cost-cutting and restructuring.

DStv, the previous headline and naming-rights sponsor, exited the festival after approximately 12 to 13 years, citing financial restructuring linked to Canal+'s involvement. The organizers thanked DStv for its contribution in growing the festival into a major lifestyle event while emphasizing that Delicious Fest remains independently owned and operated under its current name.

The festival had initially announced a September 19 and 20, 2026 return date, but this was later postponed to April 2027 due to fan demand. In April 2026, the organizers had teased a soul, funk, and groove experience, but the plans fell through and the festival was moved to April 2027 instead.

As of now, no performers or major sponsors have been confirmed for the April 2027 edition. Fans are advised to keep an eye on the festival's official channels, including @DeliciousFestSA on X and the Delicious Fest website, as they typically release lineup details closer to the event date.
