Court rejects Apple’s attempt to postpone App Store fee proceedings in Epic Games case

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney confirmed that Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers has denied Apple's request to postpone the ongoing legal proceedings in the App Store fee case. Earlier this month, Apple filed a motion to pause the proceedings, which will determine the commission Apple can charge on purchases made outside the App Store. This dispute stems from the ongoing lawsuit between Epic Games and Apple, where Apple was previously found in contempt for applying a 27% commission on purchases made through external links.

Apple had appealed the contempt ruling to the Supreme Court, prompting Apple to request a stay from Judge Gonzalez Rogers. Epic argued against the stay, emphasizing that the court proceedings should continue without interruption, regardless of the Supreme Court's review. Apple's request for a stay was rejected, and Epic indicated that Apple would have 24 hours to submit its proposed fee and supporting evidence if the stay request was denied.

Apple has not yet commented on the decision, and the ruling by Judge Gonzalez Rogers remains confidential at this time.
