Congress will corner Haryana government over rising crime, tax burden in Assembly session

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda stated that the Congress party will use the monsoon session of the State Assembly to question the BJP government on issues such as law and order deterioration, organized crime rise, and tax increases based on property tax and collector rates. During a press conference in Chandigarh, Mr. Hooda promised to introduce a calling attention motion to seek explanations from the government concerning the breakdown of law and order, the surge in organized crime, and tax hikes based on property tax and collector rates.

The Congress MLAs will also submit additional motions to address problems like urban and rural waterlogging due to rain, compensation for farmers, demands from electricity department employees, power service privatization in Gurugram, and grievances of guest teachers, sanitation workers, and other staff members. Additionally, the Congress plans to bring an adjournment motion to discuss alleged scams involving IDFC Bank and AU Small Finance Bank.

Hooda criticized the BJP government for its insensitivity towards farmers, pointing out that Haryana's allocation of urea and other fertilizers by the Center remains inadequate. The Congress also plans to organize a protest on August 19 demanding the regularization of Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam workers and other related issues.
