Christian McCaffrey Misses Second Straight Practice With 'Tightness'

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey missed his second consecutive practice with tightness. On Tuesday, he was ruled out for a joint practice with the Tennessee Titans due to the same issue. Despite not participating in the full practice, McCaffrey did engage in some individual warm-up work beforehand. Quarterback Nick Bosa, who has been dealing with soreness, was also absent for his fifth consecutive practice.

Wide receiver Mike Evans, who had been sidelined with a quad strain, returned to action for the Titans joint practice. In 2025, McCaffrey played a full 17-game regular-season schedule, leading the league with 413 total touches. As a 30-year-old running back with a history of injuries, the 49ers may be taking an extra cautious approach heading into his 10th NFL season.

Offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak stated on Monday, "He’s a little sore, but he’s doing fine. We’re just kinda managing as we go."
