At Arise News Town Hall, Osun ADC Candidate, Salaam, Promises to Restore Awo’s Progressive Legacy, Create 20,000 Jobs In 100 Days, 24-Hour Electricity

Dr. Najeem Salaam, the candidate for the Osun State governorship election from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), made promises to restore Chief Obafemi Awolowo's progressive legacy and create jobs for 20,000 youths in just 100 days if elected. Speaking at the Arise News Town Hall, Salaam pledged to provide 24-hour electricity across the state, emphasizing that implementing the Electricity Act to enable states to provide energy for their people would be done without interruption.

As a political scientist, Salaam aims to provide the Osun people with the government they deserve, correcting the shortcomings they've experienced under previous administrations. He outlined plans to address areas lacking under prior administrations, promising free primary and secondary education, a review of tuition fees in higher institutions, free medical treatment for children aged 1 to 18, pregnant women, elders, and widows, and the reintroduction of school feeding across public primary schools.

Salaam stressed that good governance should be a continuum and that beneficial programs should not be discarded due to political differences. He also mentioned that an ADC government would prioritize rural electrification, mechanized agriculture, and innovation hubs to create jobs and drive productivity.
