Anwar mohon maaf tak hadir sidang khas bahas RCI Tabung Haji

Former Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is expressing gratitude for the smooth continuation of the special Parliament session. Currently, Anwar Ibrahim is recuperating and continuing physiotherapy under medical supervision. Deputy Chief of the Prime Minister's Office, Tunku Nashrul Abaidah, announced that Anwar requested forgiveness for his inability to attend the special Parliament session today to discuss the report of the Royal Malaysian Audit Board (RCI) regarding Tabung Haji.

"Alhamdulillah, the Prime Minister's health condition is improving and he will continue to undergo physiotherapy under medical supervision," he said in a statement. Nonetheless, Anwar requested that the session proceed smoothly and added that he would attend the discussion closely to ensure the integrity of the Islamic community institution remains intact.

Tunku Nashrul also expressed gratitude towards all parties praying for Anwar's well-being and celebrated his 79th birthday yesterday. The Perikatan Nasional (PN) had proposed a special Parliament session to announce the RCI report on Tabung Haji, which would be delayed until Anwar's recovery and his presence in the Dewan Rakyat.

PN Whip Takiyuddin Hassan stated that the report's announcement should be made by Anwar as he had brought up the issue publicly. PN Chief Medical Officer, Dr Asri Ranga Abdullah Ramaiah, clarified that Anwar was recovering well from an elective laparoscopic surgery for his stomach hernia.
