All are welcome, says Wawasan amid talk of Negri Sembilan Bersatu chief defecting

KUALA LUMPUR: Wawasan party has expressed openness towards Negri Sembilan Bersatu chief Mohamad Hanifah Abu Baker, as there are rumors of his possible shift to their ranks. Wawasan's election director, Chegubard, emphasized that their party warmly accepts all and is currently concentrating on bolstering their political influence.

He acknowledged Hanifah's meeting with Hamzah Zainudin, but denied any allegations that it was orchestrated to expose internal issues of Bersatu, involving Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Azmin Ali. The meeting, according to Chegubard, was not about unearthing Muhyiddin's and Azmin's secrets, as some rumors suggest. Despite Hanifah's prior criticism of Hamzah and the party, Chegubard claimed that Hamzah is known for his open-mindedness and lack of personal grudges.

Wawasan, he added, shares the same approach and is not focused on past disagreements. Instead, the party is committed to growth and inclusivity, welcoming everyone as members in their quest for a larger agenda. Speculation began after social media posts hinted at discussions between Hanifah and Hamzah, but a Bersatu supreme council member confirmed that the meeting took place with the consent of several state leaders and that Hanifah had informed Muhyiddin of it beforehand.

He also assured Muhyiddin that he would remain with Bersatu and rejected Hamzah's offer, though the leader did not provide more details.
