Al-Ittihad’s Marwan Al-Sahafi hails Asian Champions League win as morale boost ahead of Al-Kholood clash

Al-Ittihad's forward Marwan Al-Sahafi celebrated his team's decisive away win over Al-Jazira in the AFC Asian Champions League qualifiers. The Moroccan-born striker rejoiced after witnessing Al-Ittihad secure a 4-1 victory at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. The emphatic win propelled Al-Ittihad from the preliminary stage to the league phase of the AFC Asian Champions League Elite competition.

In an exclusive interview with Ajel after the match, Al-Sahafi said, "Thank God, we achieved a big win today against Al-Jazira. It was a very important match for us, and qualifying for the Asian Champions League Elite was essential." He further added, "This emphatic victory will give us a strong start to the season and help us approach our first Roshn League match against Al-Kholood with greater confidence, especially with only four days to prepare."

This resounding win marks Al-Ittihad's first triumph of the new season under German coach Jens Wissing, who succeeded Portuguese manager Sergio Conceição this season.
