Air Canada extends Dubai flight cancellations to January 2027 as global airlines extend Middle East suspensions

Air Canada has extended the suspension of its flights to and from Dubai and Tel Aviv through mid-January 2027, according to a statement released on August 4. The decision follows the ongoing US-Iran conflict that has disrupted air travel across the Middle East. The extended suspension applies to flights from and to Dubai International Airport and Tel Aviv.

This move is part of a larger trend where several international airlines have suspended services to Dubai and other destinations in the region, with some carriers extending the disruptions through October. KLM has paused flights to and from Dubai, Dammam, and Riyadh until October 24, 2026, while Singapore Airlines has suspended flights SQ494 and SQ495 until October 24, 2026.

Air Astana has suspended flights from Almaty and Astana to Dubai until August 31 due to the deteriorating situation around the Strait of Hormuz and the wider Gulf region. Cathay Pacific is expected to resume Dubai flights on October 25, while British Airways will resume services to Dubai, Tel Aviv, Bahrain, and Amman on October 25.

Lufthansa Group, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, SWISS, and Edelweiss are among the airlines suspending flights to several Middle East destinations through October 24. Philippine Airlines has resumed flights for Manila-Doha routes, but Dubai flights remain suspended until October 2. ITA Airways and United Airlines have also suspended flights to Dubai and Tel Aviv.

American Airlines has updated travel alerts for parts of the Middle East, allowing eligible passengers to change their travel dates without a fee or request a refund. This situation highlights the continuing airline disruption across the Middle East, with passengers advised to check directly with their airlines before traveling due to the varying suspension and adjustment policies.
