527 Rescued From Flood-Hit Areas Across MP, Says CM Mohan Yadav

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed satisfaction over the rescue of 527 lives from flood-hit areas in the state. Speaking to media, Yadav highlighted that seven pilgrims were saved in Khandwa during the sudden rise in river water levels during the rainy season, posing a dangerous situation.

At a video conference held at the State Disaster Management Situation Room, Yadav interacted with affected individuals regarding the severe impact of heavy rains over the past few days. Rivers have overflowed, necessitating the rescue of people from waterlogged regions across several districts in the state.

Yadav emphasized the need for caution for those living near rivers and streams, urging them to take special precautions and seek help from neighboring districts if required. The chief minister directed field staff engaged in relief and rescue operations and highlighted that the monsoon rainfall had been 15% below normal, prompting ongoing relief efforts in areas affected by heavy downpour.

Addressing the Rajgarh incident, Yadav expressed concern over a driver attempting to cross a flooded river, which resulted in a disaster. He instructed that vehicles must not be permitted to pass through culverts overflowing with rainwater. Yadav virtually monitored rescue operations in Rajgarh, Sehore, Agar Malwa, Vidisha, and Khandwa from the Situation Room. Additionally, he mentioned plans to establish a system to reward individuals who save people's lives.
