3rd man arrested in Toronto synagogue shootings, no suspects remain: police

A 23-year-old man has been arrested in Toronto in connection with the March synagogue shootings, marking the final arrest in the investigation, police announced on Monday. The youth, identified as Chris Perreira of Barrie, Ont., faces multiple charges including reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm, and two counts of mischief related to religious property.

This is not Perreira's first encounter with the law, as he has also been charged in connection with two recent shootings in March. The synagogue attacks, which occurred within hours of each other, resulted in no injuries. The police investigation traced Perreira to the shootings after identifying him as the perpetrator in connection with other incidents.

Police identified the man as the final arrest in the investigation following a review of the cases. Police Chief Myron Demkiw said the shootings are part of a pattern of crimes committed by young people hired and paid by a foreign power. The recent raids resulted in the seizure of two handguns that are believed to be linked to 27 separate shootings in the Greater Toronto Area. Authorities are still investigating the involvement of foreign entities in these incidents.
