This sparked laughter among the Indian athletes, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Modi commended Lovlina Borgohain, the silver medallist in the women's 75kg boxing event, for her exceptional behavior. She noticed a map issue at a restaurant during the Glasgow Games, where India's North-East was missing. Lovlina promptly informed the staff and helped get the error corrected, a gesture Modi deemed significant and memorable.

In an emotional moment, weightlifter Mirabai Chanu won gold in the women's 48kg category. Modi inquired about the tears she shed on the podium after her victory, as she had been through four years of injuries, family problems, and missed a medal at the Paris Olympics by just one kilogram.
