Weather forecast: UAE braces for rain, dust as temperatures hit 49°C

The UAE is bracing for a mix of weather conditions on Monday, including rainfall, dust storms, and high temperatures, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The heat will soar to 49°C in certain areas, with winds creating gusts that may kick up dust. Clouds are expected to develop over eastern and southern regions, leading to a possibility of rain.

Meanwhile, temperatures are projected to climb between 45°C and 49°C in mainland locations, 42°C to 47°C along the coasts and islands, and 32°C to 38°C in mountainous areas. Wind speeds could reach up to 40km/h in interior and mountainous zones, and up to 35km/h along the coastline and islands. Sea conditions are expected to remain calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

The meteorological situation is being influenced by a surface low-pressure system extending from the east, combined with an upper-air low-pressure system contributing to cloud formation. As temperatures start to drop on Tuesday, especially along the coast, wind speeds may still reach 40km/h, potentially stirring up additional dust.

A further chance of rain is anticipated for eastern parts on Wednesday, as convective clouds form during the afternoon. The weather is forecast to remain fair to partly cloudy on Thursday and Friday, with humidity levels rising overnight in some coastal areas.
