[UPDATED] Police to file for inquest into Durian Tunggal shooting later this weeks

Federal Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk M. Kumar announced that the police plan to file for an inquest into the Durian Tunggal shooting later this week. The inquest will take place in Melaka once a date is set and will involve calling all relevant individuals to testify. The Attorney General's Chambers directed the inquest after reviewing the investigation papers and examining the evidence related to the deaths of three men in Durian Tunggal, Melaka, in November of the previous year.

Police claim the men were shot during a self-defense operation after they allegedly attempted to attack officers with a parang on the North-South Expressway. The Melaka police, however, stated that the victims were Durian Tunggal gang robbers on their way to commit a burglary when they were intercepted by the police.
