Trump says US cleared all mines from Strait of Hormuz, Navy in control

US President Donald Trump declared that the United States has fully removed mines from the Strait of Hormuz, asserting that the waterway is now open and under Navy control. He confirmed that numerous ships are currently navigating through the strait, which is now clear of obstacles. Trump stated, "The Strait of Hormuz is now open, many ships are passing through, and our Navy is the only force controlling it."

He further explained, "The situation in the Strait of Hormuz was complicated by mines, but we have removed them from the entire strait." The President emphasized that the United States is the sole entity responsible for controlling the Strait of Hormuz, stressing its current openness. Separately, Trump mentioned Iran's responsibility for compensating the families of 52,000 protesters who were killed in Iran over the last four months, and that the U.S. will seek financial reparation for the damages caused by Iran.
