Telangana DGP emphasises intensified policing against cybercrime, ganja smuggling, road accidents, and food adulteration

Telangana's Director General of Police, C.V. Anand, emphasized intensified policing efforts in Jayashankar Bhupalpally and Mulugu districts against various forms of crime. During a review meeting, Anand directed police officers to focus on combating cybercrime, marijuana smuggling, road accidents, and food adulteration. He warned that cybercrime was spreading to rural areas and affecting even educated individuals who fell victim to sophisticated online frauds.

Anand also identified Bhupalpally and Mulugu as districts vulnerable to marijuana transportation, ordering intensified surveillance and strict legal action against those involved. The review covered road safety concerns, with Anand noting that illegal parking and traffic violations contributed to fatal accidents. He announced plans to strengthen highway patrolling and establish a dedicated Traffic Management and Road Safety Bureau for better enforcement.

Concerning food safety, Anand stated that police would take stringent legal action against those manufacturing or selling adulterated food products. The review also addressed land disputes, with Anand warning that police would act strictly according to the law in such cases. Additionally, Anand discussed women's safety, highlighting the role of Bharosa Centres in providing support to women in distress and the need to further strengthen safety mechanisms. The meeting included representatives from various police departments and officials.
