Tarik Skubal Set for Dodger Stadium Debut Against Royals

Tarik Skubal is set to make his debut at Dodger Stadium for the Los Angeles Dodgers against the Kansas City Royals. This marks his second start since the trade deadline acquisition from the Detroit Tigers. Skubal made his debut with the Dodgers on August 4 against the Chicago Cubs, allowing four hits, two earned runs, a home run, and two walks while striking out six batters over six innings.

He is returning from a back-to-back Cy Young Award-winning season with the Tigers. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts expressed excitement about Skubal's home debut, calling him a special addition to the team. This will be the second time Skubal has pitched at Dodger Stadium, having previously done so against the Los Angeles Dodgers in their 2025 home opener.

The series against the Royals promises to be particularly exciting, as left-hander Blake Snell, another Cy Young Award winner, returns from the 60-day injured list, joining Skubal on the Dodgers' roster. Snell started the season on the IL due to a shoulder injury but was able to make his season debut. He has since suffered loose bodies in his elbow, requiring him to return to the IL after his initial start.
