SUV allegedly driven on wrong route kills ex-serviceman in Hyderabad hit-and-run case, two injured

A 47-year-old ex-Army Subedar, Dammu Ravinder, lost his life and two others sustained injuries after an SUV allegedly driven on the wrong side of the road crashed into their motorcycles early Monday morning in Hyderabad. The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. when the ex-serviceman and others were returning from Bonalu celebrations at a friend's house.

The SUV, with four occupants, allegedly crossed the road and collided with three two-wheelers. The ex-army man unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the other two riders were rushed to a hospital for treatment. The preliminary investigation revealed that the SUV had four passengers inside. After the accident, the vehicle was abandoned and the occupants fled the scene.

The police registered a hit-and-run case and are currently investigating to identify those involved. The registration number of the SUV involved in the accident has been identified. The police records show three previous traffic violations for the vehicle, including a ₹1,000 fine for over-speeding/dangerous driving in Harshaguda, parking on a service road in Nagarkurnool, and stopping/standing at a prohibited location in Lal Darwaza, Hyderabad.
