Stephen Jones: Quinnen Williams represents everything Cowboys want in a football player

On Monday, the Dallas Cowboys announced a three-year, $105.9 million extension with defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, tying him to the team for the next five seasons. This deal comes after the Cowboys traded Micah Parsons to the Packers almost a year ago, and adds Quinnen Williams, defensive tackle Kenny Clark, and outside linebacker Malachi Lawrence to their roster in return.

Stephen Jones, the Cowboys' executive vice president, expressed the significance of the extension, stating it "puts a bow on top in terms of knowing that we're going to have Q here for the next five years long term." Jones emphasized that this move complements the deal made with Rashan Gary and the selection of Malachi Lawrence in the trade last year.

In Jones' words, "And certainly [Williams] represents everything that we want in a Dallas Cowboys football player. He's not only a great football player, but he's a man. He's a leader who people in the locker room look to every day. I was just talking to Christian [Parker], who said he's the best player out on the field."
