Talibelico, a 28-year-old Spanish singer, is blending Punjabi and Mexican musical traditions through his unique turban-wearing style. The Modesto, California native, whose first language is Spanish, has become a bridge between the city’s Punjabi and Mexican communities. Born to a Mexican mother in Tijuana and raised in Redwood City, California, Talibelico's multicultural background informs his music.

He began exploring Sikhism three years ago after researching online and learning to tie a turban, which he now sees as a symbol of powerful energy and respect. Talibelico's collaborations with Punjabi singer Harveer Singh have garnered millions of views online and helped revive a forgotten chapter of California’s history – the 100-year-old cultural ties between Punjabi and Mexican families.

The turban, he says, has transformed him and carries significant personal meaning. Talibelico and Harveer's music, which blends Punjabi and Mexican instrumentation, aims to create a new musical genre.
