Rojales cracks down on illegal dumping with increased police patrols

Rojales police have intensified efforts to combat illegal dumping in the municipality, launching a summer campaign targeting those who leave garden waste, furniture, and other rubbish in public areas. The operation, running until the end of August, has already resulted in fines and encourages residents to help maintain their community.

Rojales Local Police initiated the special campaign due to ongoing issues caused by people improperly disposing of waste in streets and public spaces. Officers are conducting targeted patrols across the municipality to catch offenders in the act and examine packaging and items left among dumped waste to identify responsible parties. They are also monitoring social media and speaking to residents in affected areas to gather information.

The campaign has shown promising results, with nearly a dozen fines issued during its first week and several cases solved thanks to resident-provided information. Illegal dumping of pruning waste, old furniture, and household items creates unnecessary cleaning costs and negatively impacts the community's appearance and health.

Residents are urged to continue reporting incidents, contacting the Local Police via phone (+34) 966 715 129 or email policialocal@rojales.es, and providing photographs or videos of the incidents, along with the location. This allows patrols to quickly attend to reports and take action against offenders.

The council hopes the campaign will deter offenders and raise awareness about responsible waste disposal, helping to keep Rojales clean, safe, and attractive for its residents.
