Real Madrid ‘not convinced’ by any midfield options on the transfer market

Real Madrid currently does not believe any midfield signings on the transfer market can enhance their squad. The club has already made most of the signings they require for the upcoming season and is now focusing on potential departures. However, they remain interested in the position, as the absence of a controlling and creative midfielder following Rodri's move to Barcelona is evident.

Despite the club's aversion to signing a new midfielder, they have not ruled out the possibility entirely. The management and administration are confident in the current midfield's competitiveness and do not feel a signing is absolutely necessary. They are monitoring a few profiles, including Kees Smit, Adam Wharton and Ayyoub Bouaddi, but none of the options seem compelling at this stage.

Wharton's price tag is a significant obstacle, particularly given the club's substantial spending this summer. Smit, on the other hand, falls short in terms of experience. As the preseason progresses, Real Madrid will determine their action plan for the midfield based on what Jose Mourinho observes.
