Porter Airline flight cancelled due to child refusing to fasten seatbelt

Porter Airlines cancelled a flight on Thursday after a child refused to fasten their seatbelt. The airline's spokesman stated that the plane was on its way from Victoria to Toronto when the incident occurred. Despite the parent and crew members trying to resolve the situation, the child continued to refuse to buckle up. As the aircraft could not take off in an unsafe situation, the Porter crew decided to return to the terminal and have the two passengers disembark.

The process of bridging the aircraft, deplaning the passengers, retrieving their luggage, and submitting new flight plans took too long for the Victoria runway to remain open. Consequently, the other passengers had to wait for a subsequent flight the following day. Porter Airlines extended apologies to the affected travelers.
