Police Ladies Win KGL Women’s Democracy Cup

On August 7, 2026, the Police Ladies claimed victory in the inaugural KGL Women’s Democracy Cup, defeating the Army Ladies by a score of 1-0 at McDan Park in La, Accra. Following the women-only matches, the main Democracy Cup will be held on August 28, 2026, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, where Accra Hearts of Oak, the champions of the first edition, will face off against Asante Kotoko, who secured the second edition.

Ahiafor underlined the expanded scope of the Democracy Cup as a means to enhance civic awareness, boost youth involvement, and encourage public participation in nation-building. He also extended gratitude to all supporters of the initiative, specifically commending the title sponsor, KGL Group, for its four-year commitment, which he believed lays a solid foundation for the cup's longevity and progress.
