Nigeria Immigration deploys passport intervention team to UK

Abuja, Nigeria - The Federal Government of Nigeria has deployed a dedicated team to the United Kingdom in order to expedite passport applications for its citizens living abroad. According to the Nigeria Immigration Service, the team will arrive in the UK on August 10th, 2026 and will work closely with the Nigerian High Commission to streamline the processing and issuance of pending, new and renewal passport applications.

The intervention team will visit various cities across the UK to conduct passport enrolment and processing, making it more accessible to eligible applicants nationwide.

The intervention is open to Nigerians who have pending applications, those applying for the first time, and holders of passports with less than a year remaining before expiration. Applicants are required to present completed application forms and proof of payment during enrollment. The detailed schedule, including designated cities, dates, venues, and times, will be announced separately, and applicants are advised not to attend any location until the official schedule is communicated.
