Moldova recalls its ambassador from Russia after drone explosion

On Monday, a Ukrainian drone attack on Nizhnekamsk, Russia's Tatarstan, resulted in at least 13 deaths, according to local authorities. Tatarstan's leader, Rustam Minnikhanov, declared a day of mourning. Ninety-eight individuals sustained injuries, with 25 hospitalized, as reported by the region's government in Kazan. Among the fatalities were citizens from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, as stated by the state news agency TASS.

The mayor of Nizhnekamsk, Radmir Belyayev, reported a significant attack on industrial facilities and civilians. Ukrainian media claimed that the largest oil refinery in the region was hit. The Ukrainian General Staff later confirmed the assault on the Taneko refinery in Nizhnekamsk. Additionally, Ukrainian drones targeted the Western Siberian region of Tyumen.

Local governor Alexander Moor mentioned a fire breaking out after "several drones" crashed at an industrial plant's premises. Videos on social media showed flames at a refinery in Tobolsk, though the exact location was not specified. The plant, according to media reports, is located over 2,000 kilometers from Ukraine.

Kiev's General Staff has confirmed attacks on a petrochemical plant in Tobolsk, emphasizing that the facility manufactures raw materials crucial for Russia's military. Ukraine's counter-attacks aim to disrupt Russia's oil industry, diminish its revenue from energy exports, and weaken its war efforts. Recently, civilians have been killed in these attacks.

In Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine, 13 individuals were injured in a Russian airstrike, with Ivan Fedorov, the region's military governor, stating that a glide bomb hit the industrial city, causing damage to residential buildings and vehicles. The city experiences frequent air-raid alerts. The World Health Organization's European office reported that one of its warehouses in Dnipro, central Ukraine, was struck twice within 24 hours.
