Ministry of Transport urges public to renew small craft licences via Darb app

Doha, Qatar - The Ministry of Transport is urging small craft owners in Qatar to renew their vessel registration licenses via the official "Darb" mobile application. In a recent social media post, the ministry emphasized the convenience of completing the annual renewal process digitally through the app, which is accessible to small vessels under 200 tons. The service is available 24/7, allowing users to renew their licences without needing to visit ministry offices in person.

The ministry provided direct links to download the Darb app from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Launched in March 2025 as part of the ministry's digital transformation initiative, Darb offers a range of maritime services for small craft owners, including renewing registration licences, registering new small craft, modifying specifications, requesting replacements for lost or damaged licences, deleting entries from records, obtaining an ownership sequence certificate, applying for mortgage or mortgage release services, and updating ownership details.

Additionally, beneficiaries can request the delivery of maritime vessel cards through Qatar Post, and receive real-time updates on their application status through in-built notifications. Direct support channels include a "Contact Us" feature, the ministry's helpline at 16016, and email support at info@mot.gov.qa. Officials highlighted that these digital services align with broader efforts to modernise Qatar's transportation sector, aiming to enhance efficiency, reduce time and effort for users, and improve public satisfaction with government services.
