Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, but 4 spectators were injured, including 2 who were seriously injured and taken to the hospital. The incident occurred at around 4:30 PM during the match. The fallen stone is reported to have been about 30cm in size. The K-League immediately ordered an emergency inspection of all K-League stadiums. The Korea Football Association (KFA) and the K-League also dispatched a joint inspection team to the scene to investigate the cause of the incident and to take measures to prevent a recurrence. Pohang Steelers and Gangwon FC announced that they would postpone their match scheduled for today (13th) and would announce a new schedule once the inspection is completed. The K-League plans to conduct a thorough inspection of all 16 K-League stadiums and to take necessary measures to ensure spectator safety. The K-League also announced that it would take strict measures against any stadium that fails to ensure spectator safety. The incident has raised concerns about stadium safety, and the K-League is under pressure to take swift and effective measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
