June 29 flood disaster: Corporate Ghana, international community donate relief items to government

Corporate entities and international bodies have contributed cash, food, medical supplies and essential items to aid victims of the June 29, 2026 flood disaster in Ghana. These donations were presented to the Office of the President to support relief efforts, particularly in Accra, following torrential rains and widespread flooding.

Notable donations include GH¢200,000 from SoftCare FM Manufacturing Company Limited and GH¢50,000 from the Ghana Institute of Surveyors. The Ghana Association of Chinese Societies and Companies' contribution was particularly substantial, encompassing rice, sachet water, oil, canned fish, gari, spaghetti, and various sanitation supplies.

Scancom Plc (MTN Ghana) provided 1,400 student mattresses, blankets and relief boxes filled with food, blankets, mosquito repellents, nets and detergents as part of their flood relief campaign. Other major donors included Sentuo Group Limited, Ecobank Ghana, and Eezzy Group, each contributing significant quantities of rice, maize, canned goods, medical supplies and household items.

These donations are part of a broader response to the devastating flood, with the government coordinating relief and recovery efforts while corporate and civil society organizations mobilize resources to aid affected communities in their recovery.
