Jonathan to commission 15 road projects in Bauchi

Former Nigerian President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, is set to officially open 15 newly completed road projects in Bauchi city on Monday, August 10, 2026. These road projects, implemented by the Bauchi State Ministry of Works and Transport during Governor Bala Mohammed's tenure, are part of the state government's ongoing commitment to enhancing road infrastructure.

The initiatives aim to improve connectivity, ease transportation, boost commercial activities, and facilitate the movement of people, goods, and services within Bauchi metropolis.

Speaking to journalists prior to the event, Bauchi State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Prof. Titus Saul Ketkukah, emphasized that the completion of these projects underscores the Bala Mohammed-led administration's dedication to providing top-notch and sustainable infrastructure for the residents. Ketkukah further stated that the administration remains committed to prioritizing road construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance as crucial elements of its development agenda.

According to Engr. Mohammed Hamisu Garba, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, the commissioning of these roads comes at a time when the Bauchi State Government is ramping up its infrastructure efforts across the state, with road development remaining a focal point in its quest to foster urban renewal, improve mobility, and create a conducive environment for socio-economic activities.

Garba appealed to residents to assume ownership of the projects by safeguarding the infrastructure and supporting government initiatives to ensure the roads remain in optimal condition for sustainable use.
