Jharkhand students to march to state Assembly

Students in Jharkhand plan to stage a march to the state Assembly on Monday to protest irregularities in JPSC and JSSC examinations. Security has been heightened in Ranchi due to the anticipated demonstration, with fencing and a 163 Section of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita implemented within a 750-meter radius of the legislature. The students claim their demands, which include the cancellation of the JSSC-CGL examination, an investigation into alleged irregularities, and reforms in the recruitment process, have not been wholly met by the government.

After the second round of negotiations with the government, student leader Ravindra Paswan highlighted that while the administration accepted reforms, they refused to cancel all the exams administered by the TDPL agency, including the JSSC-CGL, PGT, Excise, and Abhay Tiwari-related exams. Paswan urged students across the state to join the peaceful, constitutional protest.

Another student leader, Sanjay Mehta, said despite multiple rounds of talks, the government had not conceded to 100% of the aspirants' demands. The students' key demands remain that the CGL exam be cancelled, a CBI probe be initiated into the CGL matter, the government accept the proposed reforms, and adhere to the suggested recruitment calendar.
