Israeli policies go beyond West Bank annexation, settlement expert warns

Israeli settlement affairs expert Suhail Khalilieh has warned that the policies pursued by Israel extend far beyond the annexation of the West Bank. In interviews, Khalilieh stated that the Israeli government is actively working to dismantle the Palestinian Authority. He pointed out that while settlement expansion is not a new issue, the current Israeli administration came to power under the slogan of a "settlement revolution."

Khalilieh emphasized that the government's focus is on settlement activity, with plans to annex the West Bank and assume full responsibility for its population. He noted that Israel entered into the Oslo Accords with the intention of avoiding accountability for Palestinians residing in urban areas. The expert explained that the current measures are aimed at restructuring the West Bank, with the objective of transferring the majority of Area C to the control of the settlement council.
