Iran says Hormuz stays closed until US meets demands; Netanyahu rejects Gaza plan

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected a US-led Gaza plan endorsed by Hamas on Sunday, distancing himself from US President Donald Trump as he prepares for elections. Despite assurances Israel wouldn't need to withdraw immediately, Netanyahu insisted Israel would not start withdrawing from Gaza until Hamas is disarmed.

He criticized the 15-point document Hamas agreed to in July, stating Israel would continue to thwart threats against its forces and citizens. Netanyahu described Trump as "our greatest friend in the White House," but emphasized Israel's willingness to challenge him if necessary.

Meanwhile, Iran's Revolutionary Guards said they would not reopen the Strait of Hormuz until the US met Tehran's demands, including compensating for war damage. This stance has caused oil prices to rise as uncertainty over a possible agreement to reopen the crucial energy conduit remains.
