Intertop Loses $10M in Goods After Russian Assault

Russian attacks on Intertop, Ukraine's largest fashion and footwear retailer, resulted in an estimated $10.8 million in direct losses to the company's inventory, according to CEO Serhii Badritdinov. The warehouse destroyed by the attack contained hundreds of thousands of shoes, clothing items, accessories, and cosmetics, including recent autumn-winter stock delivered shortly before the assault.

CEO Badritdinov stated that some of the new goods arrived just one day prior to the attack and were intended to be distributed to stores the following day, but were ultimately lost. Intertop is currently working with suppliers to replenish stocks and expedite new deliveries, acknowledging that the company may face temporary shortages in certain product categories during the rebuilding process.

Despite the destruction of its main logistics complex, Intertop's stores, website, and mobile application have remained operational. The company has secured temporary warehouse space and resumed receiving new deliveries, which are now being distributed from the makeshift facility. CEO Badritdinov revealed that Intertop has developed a stabilization plan, although a definitive timeline for fully restoring its logistics operations remains uncertain.

The attack may also impact the company's expansion plans, as some store openings scheduled for the autumn have been postponed to prioritize inventory recovery and logistics network reconstruction. The assault was part of a larger Russian missile and drone strike on Ukraine on August 5, when the Kremlin launched 28 missiles and 115 attack drones, according to Ukrainian authorities.

Other Ukrainian retailers and logistics firms, such as Epicentr, Rozetka, Nova Poshta, Silpo, and Novus, also reported substantial losses due to the attack.
