HK's largest community room opens in Tsuen Wan

The city's largest community living room was inaugurated in Tsuen Wan on Monday, promising to assist hundreds of subdivided flat households. Chief Secretary Eric Chan, presiding over the ceremony, highlighted Tsuen Wan's status as the district with the greatest concentration of subdivided units in the New Territories. The Castle Peak Road facility, measuring 7,000 square feet, is the sixth of its kind launched this year, bringing the total count of community living rooms to 15 thus far.

Chan added that three more are scheduled to open by year-end. The spacious room, with its expansive size, is anticipated to cater to 610 subdivided unit households, while the cumulative impact of all community living rooms is projected to serve around 92,000 individuals annually. Chan revealed that along with the recently operational Tsuen Wan West community living room, the two establishments can collectively serve approximately 1,100 subdivided unit households in the district.

In addition to a cooking and dining area, a study room, laundry area, music room, and a nap corner specifically designed for infants and toddlers, the community living room offers a range of amenities.
