Heirs Life Assurance names Pastor Jerry Eze independent non-executive director

Heirs Life Assurance, a life insurance company under Heirs Insurance Group, has announced the appointment of Pastor Jerry Eze, founder of Streams of Joy International Ministry, as an independent non-executive director on its board. This move was made effective on Monday, August 10, 2026. According to the company, this appointment strengthens their commitment to expanding financial inclusion and accelerating insurance adoption in Nigeria.

Despite Nigeria being Africa's largest economy, its insurance penetration remains low, below one per cent globally, underscoring the need for increased financial protection and trust in insurance. Pastor Eze's appointment brings a unique perspective on community engagement, value-based leadership, and societal impact. He is also known for his work with the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declaration (NSPPD), one of the world's largest digital prayer platforms, and his philanthropic endeavors through the Jerry Eze Foundation.

Before entering full-time ministry, Eze had a career in development communications, including roles with the World Bank and UNFPA. He holds degrees in History and International Relations, as well as Business Administration. Chairman Tony Elumelu expressed his delight at welcoming Eze to the board, highlighting his exceptional combination of integrity, influence, and deep understanding of people and communities.
