Get to Know Seller, Facebook Marketplace's Standalone App

Facebook Marketplace has introduced a standalone app called Seller, aimed at helping sellers manage their items, communicate with buyers, and grow their businesses. The app marks a significant milestone as it launches on the same day as the 10th anniversary of the Marketplace service.

Selling on Facebook Marketplace has evolved from mere transactions to a source of income for some users. Recognizing this, Facebook has launched Seller as a dedicated platform for sellers. The app works in tandem with the Marketplace, synchronizing item listings, buyer messages, and sales history.

Upon launching, Seller users are greeted with a homepage that highlights seller-focused activities, such as items needing shipping, unanswered buyer messages, and listings requiring price adjustments. Sellers can also view an overview of their sales performance.

Creating listings is streamlined through Seller. Users can upload photos, and Meta AI assists in filling in details like title, description, suggested price, and category. The app also allows bulk listing creation, enabling users to add multiple listings at once.

Seller's inventory management capabilities are robust. Sellers can view, edit, relist, and manage their entire inventory from a single platform. Buyer messages are consolidated into a single inbox, grouped by item for easy monitoring of conversations related to each listing.

Performance data such as impressions, clicks, buyer conversations, and sales figures are available in Seller. This data enables sellers to adjust their prices competitively and make informed inventory decisions.

Currently, Seller is available on the App Store for users aged 18 and above in the United States. The company is also developing a web-based version for iOS app users, with Android testing underway.
