EFCC arrests fake operative over alleged N3m fraud in Maiduguri

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has apprehended Nuhu Dahiru, who is accused of posing as an EFCC official and defrauding the public of N3 million, according to a statement released on Monday by the anti-graft agency via its X handle. Dahiru was apprehended in Tashan Bama, situated on Bama Road in Maiduguri, Borno State, after receiving reliable information that he had been impersonating an EFCC officer to deceive unsuspecting individuals.

The commission alleged that the suspect obtained the substantial sum by deception through this false representation. A total of N3 million was recovered from the suspect at the time of his arrest. The suspect will be charged to court following the completion of the investigations.
