'Don't fall into political trap': J'khand CM Soren writes open letter to students

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed gratitude on Monday to officials and security agencies for their controlled handling of the student protest march against what they alleged were irregularities in state recruitment examinations. In an open letter on X, Soren told students that the government had listened to their concerns and assured them their demands would be addressed with seriousness and sensitivity.

The chief minister emphasized that their peaceful protest was their right in a democracy, and the government was committed to respect their voice. Soren also stated that the government aimed to address shortcomings in the examination system, making it more transparent, technology-enabled, secure, and accountable. He appealed to students not to be swayed by a political narrative, as the aim was to set a new example of solutions for Jharkhand.

The students' protest followed clashes between agitators and police, resulting in injuries to both sides. Despite initial claims of 98% of demands being accepted, students rejected this, demanding a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in recruitment exams.
