‘Clear your plot by Aug 15’: Greater Bengaluru Authority releases penalty rules

The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has announced penalties for vacant plots not cleared by August 15 under the 'Freedom from Waste' campaign. Chief Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao stated that owners of vacant plots must clean the sites and dispose of waste at designated locations by the deadline. If left unattended, the GBA will clear the waste at a cost, which will be recovered from the owners along with transportation fees.

Penalties depend on plot size and the presence of a compound wall: Rs 6,700 for a 600 sq feet plot without a compound wall and Rs 7,700 for one with one. For 1200 sq feet plots, fines are Rs 13,400 without a compound wall and Rs 14,400 with one. Transportation costs are an additional Rs 19,200 for 600 sq feet plots and Rs 38,400 for 1200 sq feet plots.
