CCB busts racket making ‘rigged’ gambling cards, man held in Bengaluru’s R.T. Nagar

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has dismantled a criminal network allegedly engaged in tampering with gambling cards by installing electronic chips to manipulate game outcomes and swindle unsuspecting players, and has apprehended an individual from R.T. Nagar, Bengaluru. The accused, Mohamed Ismail Babu, was said to be manufacturing and tampering with gambling cards by inserting chips and distributing them to gambling organizers throughout the state.

According to a complaint submitted by Mahadevaiah S., a Police Inspector from the CCB Special Enquiry Wing, the CCB received reliable information that Ismail and his accomplices were operating from a residence in the R.T. Nagar police limits. The CCB team discovered the accused's storage of equipment used for modifying the playing cards.

These altered cards, it was alleged, were then supplied to organizers conducting gambling activities, with the intent of skewing game results and defrauding the public. Investigators believe that the accused was part of a larger organized syndicate supplying these tampered cards to gambling operators, who used them to entice individuals into gambling and rake in illicit profits.

The police are now investigating the network, including the origin of the digital equipment, the individuals who purchased the modified cards, and the gambling organizers accused of utilizing them.
