BN Melaka ready to discuss cooperation ahead of state polls

Barisan Nasional (BN) Melaka is open to discussions with other parties for potential cooperation ahead of the upcoming state election, according to the party's chairman, Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh. However, any partnership would be subject to various considerations, including the strengths and weaknesses of each party involved. Ab Rauf expressed openness to providing a platform for talks, but emphasized that this does not guarantee a partnership will materialize.

BN currently holds 21 state seats, while seven other seats could be subject to negotiation. The party would not assume Umno retains sole ownership of all 21 seats, and decisions would be based on the circumstances and strengths of each constituency. Potential seat exchanges might occur depending on the outcomes of negotiations. Ab Rauf stressed that formal negotiations were necessary before any decisions could be made, and urged against conclusions drawn through public statements or social media. No party has officially approached BN for talks thus far.
