BOGOTA: At least 82 people were killed after a powerful earthquake struck western Colombia early on Monday, knocking down buildings across several cities and leaving others trapped in the rubble.
Colombia’s President Abelardo de la Espriella declared a national disaster and sent his ministers to the west of Colombia to coordinate rescue operations in response to a 7.4M earthquake.
The quake trapped residents under debris, leaving more injured and forcing people to evacuate their homes.
