Aderant launches AML integration with First AML for law firms

Atlanta and Auckland, New Zealand - Aderant has now made it possible for law firms utilizing its Expert and Expert Sierra practice management systems to integrate with First AML's anti-money laundering compliance platform, as revealed in a recent press release. This integration empowers staff to conduct AML checks within their regular practice management workflow, without the need to switch between different systems or manually input data.

Upon selecting a client or matter, users can submit checks to First AML, with a review process allowing them to verify the individuals and entities involved before finalizing the case. The system can also identify individuals who have already been verified through the platform, and records verification outcomes in an AML approval history table within Expert or Expert Sierra. This data can be accessed via Entity Manager for reporting and audit purposes.

The workflow can be used independently or integrated into the file opening process for automatic AML checks when needed for specific matters. Josiah Chaves, Aderant's Chief Client Officer, noted that the integration streamlines compliance checks within the existing workflow, rather than being a separate process. Aderant's Professional Services team assists firms in implementing and configuring the integration according to their current processes.

Milan Cooper, CEO of First AML, emphasized that the partnership eliminates the need for users to leave their primary systems to perform compliance checks. The integration was announced earlier in 2026. Aderant, operating as a unit of Roper Technologies (NASDAQ:ROP), reported strong revenue growth of over 11% recently, with profit margins above 60%. First AML is headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand, with offices in Australia and the United Kingdom.
