A major Apple Watch redesign may be coming

Apple is reportedly contemplating a significant redesign of its popular Apple Watch, though the extent of the changes remains speculative. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, this year's Apple Watch updates will primarily consist of minor enhancements, including improved performance, additional color options and bands, and enhanced health and fitness features. There is also a possibility of a ceramic case variant, though it is unclear whether this will be available this year or next.

Looking ahead, Apple is exploring various directions for its wearable technology. Reports suggest that the company is investigating wearables without displays, as well as those with alternative screen technologies and different sizes. While this information is broad, it indicates a substantial move for Apple, given the limited evolution of the Apple Watch since its inception.

Moreover, Apple is contemplating a range of premium models, beyond the existing Ultra and Hermès variants, as well as more affordable alternatives to the Apple Watch SE. Gurman notes that the company has not yet decided on a single direction for these changes, emphasizing that they will take time to implement.

Gurman also provided updates on Apple's other products. The company is planning multiple versions of its upcoming foldable iPhone, with the first release expected in 2027 and a second and third version in 2028. These variants will feature larger displays both on the inside and outside of the devices.
