A special planned exhibition marking the 80th anniversary of the return of the remains of independence activist Yun Bong-gil will be held in Yesan, South Chungcheong Province, starting on the 12th. The exhibition, which runs until the 31st, is being held at the Independence Hall of Korea in Yesan, where the remains of Yun Bong-gil, a patriot who threw a bomb at the Japanese consul general in Shanghai on April 29, 1932, are enshrined. The exhibition introduces the process of repatriation of Yun's remains, which were brought back from China through a joint effort by the Chinese government and Korean independence activists in 1940. It also features photos and materials related to Yun's life and activities, as well as artifacts and records related to the repatriation of his remains. Meanwhile, various events, including a reenactment of the repatriation of Yun's remains and a ceremony to mark the 80th anniversary of the event, will be held on the 12th. The reenactment will feature a mock transport of a coffin carrying Yun's remains from the port city of Busan to the Independence Hall of Korea, and a ceremony will be held at the hall to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the repatriation. The events are being organized by the Independence Hall of Korea and the Yun Bong-gil Memorial Foundation.
