256 companies with Bulgarian owners operate in Ukraine

A total of 256 companies, with Bulgarian owners, are operating in Ukraine, according to Opendatabot's report on August 10. Among these, one in six companies reported annual revenue exceeding UAH 100 million, totaling 24.72 billion hryvnias. Construction Machinery led the pack with 4.43 billion hryvnias in revenue, followed by Green Cool with 2.09 billion hryvnias.

Energy trader Elementum Energy Trade and Kostopil Glassworks rounded out the top five with revenues of 1.85 billion and 1.8 billion hryvnias, respectively. Arkus Ukraine, a military vehicle manufacturer, saw its revenue surge nearly 40-fold, from 11.6 million to 462.6 million hryvnias. Pyriatyn Delicacy, on the other hand, experienced the most significant decline, with revenue dropping by 88%, from 3.98 billion to 464.4 million hryvnias.

Roughly half of these Bulgarian-owned companies are based in Kyiv, with others spread across Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, and Kharkiv oblasts. Notably, no Bulgarian-owned businesses are registered in Kirovohrad, Luhansk, Sumy, or Kherson oblasts. Wholesale trade was the most prevalent sector for these companies, accounting for 53 businesses, while 42 owned electricity and gas supply firms and 29 were involved in real estate.
