18 teams qualify for 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup

In a development that highlights the growing prominence of women's football, 18 teams have now qualified for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The race for the tournament places is accelerating, with five confederations already securing their representatives. In Africa, Algeria, Cameroon, Malawi, and Morocco have all qualified, marking a significant moment for women's football on the continent.

Asia has filled all six of its available spots with Australia, China, Japan, North Korea, the Philippines, and South Korea. Europe has confirmed four teams so far: Denmark, France, Germany, and Spain, but the qualification race remains open with seven places still up for grabs. South America has completed its allocation with Argentina, Brazil (the hosts), and Colombia securing their places. With 14 spots remaining, the final lineup is starting to form, featuring established powerhouses, emerging nations, and debutants.
