USFK air defense unit participates in recent U.S. missile defense exercise in Palau

An air defense artillery brigade from the U.S. Forces Korea took part in a recent air and missile defense exercise in Palau, conducted by the U.S. Army Pacific. The Eighth Army's 35th Air Defense Artillery Brigade displayed their effectiveness and accuracy during Exercise Tenacious Archer (20)26, according to a recent post on the Eighth Army's Facebook page.

The exercise, which took place from July 25 to August 2, involved multiple joint live-fire events using the AN/TWQ-1 Avenger system and shoulder-launched Stinger missiles, along with the U.S. Army's 52nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment and multilateral partners.

Tenacious Archer is a multilateral exercise that focuses on testing and improving integrated air and missile defense capabilities. Led by the U.S. Army Pacific and Special Operations Command Pacific, the exercise is designed to enhance the region's defense readiness. This year's exercise not only demonstrated the proficiency of U.S. forces but also highlighted the strategic importance of Palau as a defense outpost in the Indo-Pacific region.

By deploying and operating in various locations throughout the area, U.S. Army soldiers aim to maintain high levels of readiness to protect allies and partners, foster interoperability, and promote stability in the free and open Pacific.
